This week on the Online PR Podcast co-hosts Pete Codella of Codella Marketing and Mark Polson of Code Greene welcome Tim Haslam, a Web programmer at Code Greene, as they discuss Foursquare and iPhone applications.

Foursquare

Foursquare is a social media tool that connects you with friends in your city, or wherever you’re visiting. It uses technology to connect you to others. You can check-in at places on your mobile phone and leave tips for your friends.

Foursquare is a good example of the type of social media application we’ve discussed quite a bit on the Online PR Podcast — using technology to bring people together face-to-face.

As Tim points out, on Foursquare you can:

Check-in at places around town

Gather points — you earn them by checking-in at new places

Shout out

Leave tips for different venues

Become the mayor of a location by checking in there most frequently

Foursquare can be used by businesses to engage with their customers in fun new ways. For example, if you operate a café you could provide a free menu item to the Foursquare mayor of your venue.

You can find each of us on Foursquare here:

Mark

Pete

Tim

iPhone Apps

<itunes:summary>This week on the Online PR Podcast co-hosts Pete Codella of Codella Marketing and Mark Polson of Code Greene welcome Tim Haslam, a Web programmer at Code Greene, as they discuss Foursquare and iPhone applications.

	Mark
	Pete
	Tim
