OPRP Episode 016 – 10.08.09

The Online PR Podcast with Pete Codella of Codella Marketing and Mark Polson of Code Greene this week delves into the idea of what makes messages memorable.

Mark and Pete also discuss the upcoming general release of Google Wave and its implications for the Internet, social media and public relations professionals.

Made to Stick

Pete and Mark talk about the characteristics of sticky messages.

Authors Dan and Chip Heath discussed in their book, Made to Stick – Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die… explain methods for making ideas stickier, such as violating schemas, using the Velcro Theory of Memory, and creating curiosity gaps.

It’s a great read if you haven't already read it.

Google Wave

Mark and Pete talk about the implications of Google Wave – the e-mail, instant messaging, Facebook, Twitter, multimedia and blogging tool being released this fall by Google.

Mark sees Google Wave as a game changer, and Pete agrees.
